Teenage boy injured in Armadale fire

A 14-year-old boy has been injured in a blaze at a house in Armadale.

The teenager received flash burns to his hands and face as a result of an oven catching fire on Thursday, February 2.

Fire crews from Bathgate and Whitburn were called to the property in Hailestones Crescent, shortly before 5.45pm.

They extinguished the fire in the oven on arrival.

The boy had already been taken to St John’s hospital suffering from flash burns.

A 39-year-old woman still in the premises was suffering from shock and was given oxygen at the scene.
