Armadale’s Bella Jones celebrates her 105th birthday
Armadale woman Bella Jones has celebrated her 105th birthday – and there’s a massive 101 years difference between her and her youngest great-great grandchild.
Bella was born in Springburn, Glasgow on January 19 1907 but moved to Armadale as a young child when her dad went to work in the Armadale brickworks.
With four sisters and five brothers, Bella was never short of company, and she has carried that great love of being with family and friends throughout her life.
Bella, who worked as a domestic for a Lord and Lady, has two sons, four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren,
She loves knitting and playing dominoes and says that her secret for a long and healthy life is "porridge and hard work."
Bella, who received a visit from Provost Tom Kerr and the Deputy Lieutenant of West Lothian, George McNeill, was looking forward to a party with family and friends at Colinshiel Court later in the evening.
Happy birthday Bella!
